Day 1 USA - Chengdu

Today we board an international flight bound for Chengdu, China. Cross the International Date Line.

Day 2 Chengdu

Arrive in Chengdu. Our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the luxury hotel for rest and relaxation. Chengdu is the capital of "Heavenly State" (Tian Fu Zhi Guo), habitat of giant pandas and city of cotton-rose hibiscus. Benefiting from Dujiangyan Irrigation Project which was constructed in 256 B.C., Sichuan Province is reputed as "Tian Fu Zhi Guo", literally a place richly endowed with natural resources. Chengdu, as the capital, is extremely productive. The Min and Tuo Rivers, two branches of the Yangtze River, connected to forty other rivers, supply an irrigation area of more than 700 square kilometres (270.27 square miles) with 150-180 million kilowatts of water. Consisting of abundant mineral resources, the land is extremely fertile. 

Day 3 Chengdu - Jiuzhaigou

In the morning, we tour the Chengdu Panda Base. Chengdu Panda Base was founded in 1987, it started with 6 giant pandas that were rescued from the wild. It had about 150 panda births, and the captive panda population has grown to about 100 now. Visit the old alley. Enjoy the famous Sichuan local cuisine for lunch today. Take high speed train to Zhenjiangguang, Songpan County. Be met and transfer to Jiuzhaigou.

Day 4 Jiuzhaigou

The fairyland - Jiuzhaigou, the world natural heritage site, has been known for its natural wonders in terms of colorful waters appearing to be either magically peacock blue or emerald. All those who encounter it are overwhelmed by the breathtaking beauty of both its landscape and its lakes, springs, waterfalls, streams, rivers and shoalsJiuzhaigou National Park is a network of valleys in Sichuan province, it is located in Jiuzhaigou County, 450 kilometers to the north of Chengdu. Its name is due to the existence of nine stockaded villages of Tibetan origin, and it is always regarded as a holy mountain and watercourse by the Tibetan people. In the northern Shuzheng Valley, Nuorilang Waterfall cascades from the edge of a large tree-fringed lake. The Zharu Monastery is a place of worship for the park’s Tibetan villages. In the south, Rize Valley’s mountains are covered with ancient forests. Fallen trees are scattered on the bottom of the striking, multicolored Five Flower Lake. Jiuzhaigou is a great masterpiece of nature having dreamlike scenery and abundant natural resources. The best time to visit Jiuzhaigou is autumn, especially September and October. Whole day excursion exploring the fantasy of Jiuzhaigou including visits to Shuzheng Waterfall, Changhai Lake, the River View Pavilion and Tibetan Village.

Day 5 Jiuzhaigou - Huanglong - Chengdu

After breakfast, tour to Huanglong. Huanglong is the another world natural heritage site, famed for its peculiar karsts landscape and multihued ponds that are set off picturesquely by snow-top mountains, vertical ravines and vast forests. Finish sightseeing the main scenic spots in Huanglong, we drive to Zhenjiangguan, Songpan County, take the high speed train back to Chengdu.

Day 6 Chengdu - Sanxingdui Ruins - Leshan - Mt. Emei

After breakfast, we visit the Temple of Marquis Wu, the Thatched Cottage of Du Fu. Later proceed by bus to Leshan, the tour of Leshan includes a cruise on Min River, and a view of Leshan Grand Buddha, the largest stone-carved Buddha in the whole world, described as "A mountain emerges as a Buddha, and a Buddha- a mountain". Finish sightseeing at Leshan, before we drive to Mt. Emei, enjoy the local cuisine dinner - Tofu Banquet.

Day 7 Mt. Emei

A cable car ride takes us up to the Golden Summit. Sightseeing of Golden Summit at Mt. Emei. The Golden Summit rises over 3000 meters above sea level. There one may find an advantage point to appreciate sunrise, to view the sea of clouds, the Buddhist lamps and particularly the Buddhist flory which is most wonderful and captivating. Tonight we will enjoy Emei Vegetarian Dinner.

Day 8 Mt. Emei - Dujiangyan - Chengdu - Zhangjiajie

After breakfast, visit Qingyanggong, the best preserved memorial temple for Lao Zi. Then, we travel to Dujiangyan, the ancient irrigation system. In the afternoon, we return to Chengdu and fly to Zhangjiajie.

Day 9 Zhangjiajie - Fenghuang (Phoenix Town)

After breakfast, we drive to Fenghuang (Phoenix Town). Fenghuang is located on the western boundary of Hunan Province in an area of outstanding natural beauty where mountains, water and blue skies prevail. Fenghuang is Chinese for 'Phoenix', the mythical bird of good omen and longevity that is consumed by fire to be re-born again from the flames. Fenghuang (Phoenix Town) is so called as legend has it that two of these fabulous birds flew over it and found the town so beautiful that they hovered there, reluctant to leave. Upon entering the town the visitor will be impressed by its air of mystery, elegance and primitive simplicity. This is a world that is dominated by the color green. The mountain slopes are covered with green foliage, the fields are green and even the Tuo River reflects the greenery. The bridges over the water and unique houses built on stilts display a harmony that is so often portrayed in traditional Chinese paintings. Fenghuang is a wonderful example of what villages were like prior to the onset of modernization. Tonight we will have a local flavor dinner.

Day 10 Fenghuang - Zhangjiajie

After breakfast, we will tour the town. Then drive back to Zhangjiajie. Zhangjiajie is acclaimed for its fantastic formations of peaks, crystal clear water, spectacular karst caves and the unrivalled high percentage of forest cover. Drive to Zhangjiajie in the afternoon. For dinner we are served the local Tujia Minority Cuisine. After dinner, we enjoy the entertainment of special effect show “Tienmen Mountain Fox Fairy”.

Day 11 Zhangjiajie

Today we continue our sightseeing tour in Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Scenic Area. After breakfast, we take the elevator at Bailong and visit Yuan Jiajie Scenic Spot for sightseeing of Back Garden, Mihun Stage, the First Bridge in the world, and Hallelujah mountains. then by Eco-car to Emperor Mountain scenic area, sightseeing for Helong Park, Fairy Maiden Present Flowers etc,and come down by cable car.  Then to Ten-miles-Gallery, sightseeing of Herb Picking Old Man, Three Sisters Peak etc. Enjoy the famous Hunan cuisine for dinner.

Day 12 Zhangjiajie - Shanghai

Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Scenic Area is acclaimed for its fantastic formations of peaks, crystal clear water, spectacular karst caves and the unrivalled high percentage of forest cover and was listed as a world heritage site in 1992. Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain is one of the most representative natural sceneries of Zhangjiajie. Today our tour will start with a visit to Yellow Dragon Cave, a huge limestone cave in which there are two underground rivers, four waterfalls, 13 caverns and countless stalagmites. Tour Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park by the world's longest cable car, view the road with 99 sharp turns that snakes up Tianmen Mountain. Tour Tianmen Cave (aka Gate to the Heaven), it is the world’s highest cave of its kind. Ghost Plank Road, it is famous for its hanging along the cliff line of the Ghost Cave. The length of the path is 1,600 m with an average elevation of 1400 m. Glass Walkway, the enterprising people can experience the magic glass plank road step by step heart-pounding (including overshoes).  Fly to Shanghai at night.

Day 13 Shanghai - USA

After breakfast, you are transferred to airport for your return flight back to your home. You will be in the United States the same day. End of tour.
